Most delays in LiDAR projects come from software, not from the scanner. Ask for the point cloud format, the driver or SDK version and the supported operating system before the purchase order, not after the units arrive.
Mounting also matters. A scanner fixed to a vibrating frame will report noise that looks like obstacles. The quotation should state the mounting method and whether a vibration-damping bracket is included.
